Yamba Rotary conducted a survey of defibrillators in Yamba in 2016 and discovered that there where 4 in the CBD, 2 in Doctors surgeries and one each in the Golf & Bowls clubs but none available after hours.

There was also one inside Priceline Pharmacy at Yamba Fair. This one has since been moved into the public space near Coles making it available for the longer trading hours of Coles.

The Rotary club then set about getting six(6) publicly available 24/7. To date they have been funded, two(2) by individual businesses and two(2) in partnership with Rotary, with two more in the process of being organised. Clarence Valley Council (CVC) produced street signage to indicate where all defibrillators are located, existing as well as new installations.
